Biography

 

Erin is a trial lawyer who primarily represents plaintiffs in first party insurance cases.  Erin’s practice includes common law and statutory contractual and extra-contractual bad faith litigation, with an emphasis on hurricane, structural and mold litigation.


Prior to joining Clark, Burnett, Love & Lee, Erin practiced insurance law in Houston, Beaumont and Austin, Texas.  During her career, Erin has participated in hundreds of first party and bad faith claims.  Erin has also represented plaintiffs in other areas of law, including commercial litigation, consumer litigation, personal injury and products liability.  Erin is licensed to practice law in all courts in the State of Texas and the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.  Additionally, Erin has experience practicing before the American Arbitration Association and the Texas Judicial Panel of Multidistrict Litigation.


Although originally hailing from Pennsylvania, Erin has been a resident of Houston and its surrounding areas for over two decades. After graduating from Clear Lake High School, Erin earned a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she was a leader in a wide-variety of academic, athletic and social organizations. During college Erin also earned several awards and honors and was inducted into a number of honor societies. 


After college, Erin earned her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.  During law school Erin was a member of both varsity moot court and mock trial teams under the direction of Dean T. Gerald Treece.  Erin attended a number of national competitions and earned numerous intramural speaking and briefing accolades.  


At Clark, Burnett, Love & Lee, Erin focuses her attention on the litigation of Hurricane Ike and other first-party insurance claims.  In addition to her law practice, Erin has lectured on common law bad faith liability in Texas and has co-authored articles on litigating underinsured/uninsured motorist cases for the University of Texas CLE, the Jefferson County Bar Association and the Texas Trial Lawyer Association. 


Erin is married to Justin R. Goodman of Heard, Robins, Cloud & Black, LLP in Houston.
