Riley is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with extensive multi-state experience in trying and settling litigation matters on behalf of plaintiffs. He oversees the firm’s docket of commercial and residential insurance claims stemming from property and casualty losses. He is currently focusing his attention on litigating bad faith insurance claims on behalf of plaintiffs arising out of Hurricane Ike.
Riley attended the University of Texas and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He is a 1991 cum laude graduate of the University of Houston Law Center. For the first five years of his practice, he was with the firm of Fulbright & Jaworkski, L.L.P. in Houston, where he represented insurance carriers in matters involving insurance coverage disputes and allegations of bad faith, products liability, commercial disputes, construction litigation and personal injury law. Riley left Fulbright & Jaworski in 1996 and formed his own firm and successfully resolved claims on behalf of thousands of plaintiffs in multi-state pharmaceutical litigation, commercial and residential insurance matters and personal injury litigation. He joined Clark, Burnett, Love & Lee as a partner in 2006, and where he continues to resolve claims brought on behalf of plaintiffs. Riley served as Plaintiffs Co-Liaison Counsel for claims arising out of the March 23, 2005 explosion at the British Petroleum facility in Texas City. He was instrumental in the successful resolution of the claims of hundreds of plaintiffs alleging personal injury and property damage. Recently, he actively participated in the negotiations on behalf of the plaintiffs in the drafting and presentation of the case management and discovery orders in the Hurricane Ike dockets pending in Harris and Galveston County.
