Biography
Scott Love concentrates his practice in the areas of products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, mass tort litigation and class action litigation. Over the last several years, Scott has obtained over 100 million dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients in the areas of products liability, nursing home litigation, medical malpractice and consumer litigation. In addition to handling individual catastrophic injury cases, Mr. Love has been involved in numerous consumer class actions and mass tort cases, including, insurance cases, oil & gas cases and various drug cases such as Fen/Phen, Rezulin, Medtronics, Trasylol and Paxil.
Mr. Love is one of the leading attorneys in the national Trasylol litigation which was transferred to the Southern District of Florida. As a result of his hard work and dedication to this litigation, Scott was honored with the appointment of co-lead counsel of the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee by the Honorable Donald Middlebrooks in May 2008.
In October 2009, Scott, along with two colleagues, obtained a multimillion dollar verdict for injuries sustained by their minor client in the Paxil Birth Defect Litigation. This was the first Paxil birth defect case tried in the country. Paxil is an antidepressant manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. Paxil has been associated with birth defects in children whose mother's take Paxil during pregnancy.
In addition to his active trial practice, Scott speaks on topics involving litigation and trial strategies and trends, including topics such as (1) Litigating Catastrophic Birth Injury Cases, (2) Cross-Examination of Expert Witnesses, (3) Expert Discovery, (4) Products Liability, and (5) Pharmaceutical Litigation.
For four consecutive years, Scott has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer (Rising Star Edition). This honor is given to less than 5% of all attorneys in the State of Texas. He has also had the distinction of being named one of Houston’s Top Lawyers (2007, 2008 and 2009) and one of Houston's Lawyers on the Fast Track (2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) by H Texas Magazine.
